Successful people refuse to believe something is impossible. When others quit, they keep their dreams alive.

In the book “How Good Do You Want to Be”, written by Alabama head coach Nick Saban, he writes about his dad’s work ethic and his desire to teach Nick how to stay focused on success.

Nick’s dad told him a story he called “Two Feet Short.” It’s about a miner searching for gold, relentless in his pursuit to strike it rich.

At the end of the second year, he became discouraged and decided to quit. Selling his mine to a newcomer, he packed his gear and moved on.

When the new owner started digging, he too was excited about finding gold. His success, however, came quicker–much quicker. On the first day, he went just two feet farther into the mine and struck more gold than he ever could have imagined.

If you have followed Nick Saban’s coaching career, you could only imagine how long and how hard he would keep digging for that gold. His National Championships are a testament to his dad’s ability to teach and his son’s relentless desire to work hard. When others quit, he keeps his dreams alive.
